Simplify, simplify, simplify!!
As many of you have probably already figured out, the new algorithms on Facebook don’t let you see everything that is posted. In fact, you see very little of it. Most people just don’t have the time to check each page that they follow individually OR check on the site/blogs that they follow to see if there is anything new.
As I have been brainstorming to try to figure out how to combat this frustration (for you and for me), I have come up with a couple of ideas.
First idea, a newsletter (of sorts).
Now before you freak out, please hear me out.
We all receive so much email that we get overloaded. I don’t want to overload you with more things in your inbox. This is my way of valuing you and your time and simplifying life for all of us.
SO instead of sending an email whenever I post something new, I’m trying this format to see if we all like it.
At the beginning of each month, you’ll receive an email from me letting you know what will be coming up in the current month, what you might have missed the previous month, give a-ways, perhaps a theme for the month, or a habit/goal that we might work on together. There may also be exclusive things just for email subscribers.
Go to Old Fashioned Homemaking , enter your email and viola! That’s all you need to do!!
YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS OUT!
Now this doesn’t mean that you won’t hear from me at other times (like when I have something to say or something super exciting to share) but it would limit some of the things coming to your email inbox.
Second idea, Facebook Page vs Facebook Group
I’ve been doing some reading on the differences and how to use each. Here are the basics-
A FB Page is visible to everyone and anyone can like and follow. It allows you to comment and share with your friends. It will come up as a “suggest page” in the feed of those who are already liking, following and sharing similar type of content pages.
With FB’s current algorithm, not everything is seen by everyone.
A FB Group is only visible to members of the group. It can be set up so that is shows up in a search (so that people can join but they need to get accepted). Members would get a notification whenever something is posted to the group. All members can post to the group so that questions can be asked and answered; therefore, more discussion. Everyone can ask or answer questions and share ideas!!
I’m currently leaning towards both. They both serve a very distinct purpose (pages to get exposure to anyone who might be interested and groups to allow for more intimate conversations and sharing of ideas).
Do you have a preference? Please let me know what you think of either or both!
Seriously, leave a comment and let me know what your thoughts are. I truly and honestly want to hear them!
Blessings and talk to you soon!
Hey don’t forget to go to the blog and subscribe for the newsletter!!!
